So I have come to realize that something memorable or interesting doesn't happen every single day and then some days I'm just unmotivated to wrote so this whole daily diary thing probably won't work out. Also seeseeing as tho I've missed about 2 weeks since my last entry I don't even remember what to say to even catch up on my entries. But this is something I can and will do to remember the things I see worth remembering.
So karaoke Tuesdays at Apple Bee's....we stay there. For a few weeks it was kinda dry too many people drunken and confident to really have fun. There hasn't been many great singers and not much opportunity for us to turn out the bee lol. But tonight was live! At first it was just me, Jessica, Trust amd then Cathy came....then Kaleb came then Tasha. Trust really wanted a drink so we all ended up drinking a little. I sang "Stay With You" by John Legend since my cold hadn't allowed my voice to be quite up to par yet. It was pretty good. Then sang back-up for "Say My Name" by Destiny's Child while Trust led. It was good too. This random gay guy sang "Royals" by Lorde which was super good and turned us up even more. Then Kaleb and me sang "How Great is our God", our harmonies were great, and the random guy who sang my failed Erykah Badu song last week came up and added his part of the harmony. It was fun. We brought Jesus to the bee lol. Later I confidently sang "Soulmate" by Natasha Bedingfield and gave my all. It was really really good.
I got soooo many compliments tonight. One guy said to me "there are 2 groups of people at karaoke: those who can really sing and those who just have fun. You're with the first group". It's weird because I've never really seen myself as a really good singer. I feel mediocre, especially compared to my peers. But I have quite a bit of potential. I want to better train my voice and see where it takes me. Don't necessarily want to make a career of it, but just discover the gift that God has given to me and perfect the craft.
